This website is part of a project undertaken by the Primary 7 children of
Rosemount Prim
ary School, Derry City, N.Ireland, to highlight the dangers and effects of underage drinking in their local community.

The purpose of this web site is to provide the youth of Derry with an insight of the harm that they are causing not only to their own health and well being but also to the community at large. As part of our research we:

Here they are; primary 7 2006

Interviewed clr Helen Quigley our former Mayor, to establish her views on who is to blame and what can be done to reduce the amount of underage drinking in our city.

Talked to Dr. Alan McKinney head of accident and emergency in Altnagelvin Hospital, about the dangers to our health as a result of drinking at a young age.

Visited local off-licence's and talked to some of the employees about the difficulties they face when they refuse to sell alcohol to those that are under the legal age.

Talked to Martin Connolly a local drugs awareness officer to establish the growing concerns surrounding this issue.

Visited local areas that are plagued and destroyed on a weekly basis as a result of large gangs gathering together to consume drink.
